We are very excited about our fantastic find of sphalerite!
It is a very old stock of natural crystals from the Spanish mine "Mina Las Manforas", also known as Áliva. In this mine, lead and later zinc ore was mined on several levels since the 16th century. The mine has been closed since the 1980s, the area has been declared a nature reserve and the mine has been flooded and is under water. It is forbidden to enter the mine.
The sphalerites from Mina Las Manforas are world-famous for their breathtaking crystallization, brilliance and color.
The sphalerites have a stunning play of light which is impossible to capture on camera, in the sun they can dazzle like a mirror, the cabochons are not as dazzling as the slices but have a slightly flatter shine due to the curvature
The pendant is made from 925 sterling silver
The silver pendant has a length of 51mm and a width of 57mm
The chain is made of 925 sterling silver rhodium-plated with a length of 46cm and an additional extension chain of 5cm

To prevent your sterling silver jewelry from oxidizing quickly, it is best to store it in a place where air cannot easily reach it, for example in a box or a plastic bag with a zip closure."
