Fantastic sugilite necklace
Sugilite was only discovered in the middle of the 20th century and its name goes back to its discoverer.
The main location of sugilite is in the South African Kalahari Desert. However, the Wessel mine is already exhausted, which means the value of the stone is constantly increasing. Other locations include the island of Iwagi in southeastern Japan as well as Namibia and India. However, the sugilites from other sites (except the Kalahari Desert) are not suitable for making jewelry and gemstones because they are very small and do not have a special color. This makes the sugilite from the Kalahari Desert a sought-after and rare jewelry gemstone.
The sugilite finds are accompanied by a number of other minerals, including albite, apatite, biotite, pectolite, zircon, aegirine, richterite, allandite, andradite, titanite and quartz.
The sugilite is of selected quality with a beautiful color, natural and untreated (not dyed or oiled)
The clasp is a rhodium plated sterling silver clasp, rhodium plated silver does not fade from black. (and the chain too)
Size:
Sugilite: The shards have an approximate length of 15mm to 12mm and 8mm
The length of the sugilite necklace is 41.5 cm plus 6 cm extension chain
